Irene is the current President of the Society of South African Artists, first founded in 1897, and reincarnated in 1902. The society has just celebrated its 102nd Anniversary. It is the largest and most prestigious Art Society in South Africa.
Her preferred medium is oil on canvas, using brush or pallet knife, as well as the use of acrylic and acrylic inks. Her quirky take on African animals, has been endorsed by the World Wild Life Fund.
Irene regularly exhibits with many galleries her paintings have been sold to private collections in America, South Africa, Russia, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Malaysia and the UK.
An auction of one of her paintings at Spier Wine Estate, helped raise over R100,000 for the Save the Rhino Foundation.
As well as being a talented artist Irene is a skilled marketer and curates many exhibitions in the Western Cape.
