Treknet is a homegrown local comic strip by Dave Gomersall and Gavin Thomson about everyday life in South Africa. 

First published weekly in 2005, Treknet soon became a daily and firm favourite comic strip published in newspapers across South Africa.

In 2013 Treknet was turned into a 13 part award winning sitcom for Kyknet.

Cover print is inspired by classic horror comics like Tales of the Crypt and Eerie, this colourful cover featuring Boet and John and their faithful dog Brak  and is a limited edition A2 print of 500.
Printed using a 12 colour fine art Epson printer with pigment ink on 210gsm HP Matte paper.

Since 2005 local Noordhoek resident Gavin Thomson has made a name for himself as one of South Africa's most prolific cartoonists.

At a time, producing around 15 comic strips a week, including Treknet, Frikkie, Ripples, Koos, and Brak written by Dave Gomersall, as well as the popular daily comic strip, Mama Taxi written by the late Deni Brown.

As well as being a published editorial cartoonist whose work appeared for over 10 years in the People's Post and was commended at a national level at the 2013 Standard Bank Sikuvile Journalism Awards, he has also illustrated numerous children's story books including the 'And Friends' series written by Roy Harding, Jesus stories for Little Zebra Books and The Bungle in the Jungle by John Bush.

In 2015 Gavin returned to the easel and painting and in December 2016, he has his first solo exhibition, "Starry Nights Over False Bay", an exhibition of paintings depicting famous artworks mixed with his own cartoons at the Art Haus in Kalk Bay.

Since then he has taken part in various group and solo exhibitions in Cape Town and Gauteng and has collectors both in South Africa and abroad.
