Andrew Jenkins

Andrew is passionate about birds and the natural environment, and increasingly preoccupied with softening the all-too-often conflict-driven and destructive interface between people and nature. He has lived in the Kommetjie/Noordhoek area for >20 years, and for the past 4-5 years has become imbued with watching and photographing the amazing birds – oystercatchers, terns, gulls, flamingos… with whom we share our beautiful beach. He has borne witness to the alarming levels of disturbance to which these birds are subjected by other users of the beach (and their uncontrolled furry friends).

He is hoping that the photographs donated to Project Noordhoeked’s auction will help in raising the funds to better protect our precious birdlife.
